APOLLO UNTO NEPTUNE
APOLLO UNTO NEPTUNE
Apollo unto Neptune said:
«Come, I shall drink the sea!»
But Neptune laughed out like a lad
In his boyish jollity,
And cried: «You would drink the earth, if you could,
And infinity.»
And the poet the symbol who understood
Felt his misery.
