ON THE LIMITS OF SCIENCEs

Empirical investigation can lead to nothing, for it is based upon an illusion - on a coherent illusion, but none the less on an illusion. When I say can lead to nothing, I mean it cannot be made the basis of a philosophic system.

Idea of immortal life not horrible. It would be horrible if it were immortal life of body and mind together. Immortal life of the soul alone is not horrible but natural and pleasing to it.
