lf all things be from a God infinitly good, then good must be in all things.
lf all things be from a God infinitly good, then good must be in all things. Plurality comes from this unity; is plurality evil? And if it be said that time and space which make the world as it is are principles of evil where do they come? If from a good God, they are good. If from another thing there are 2 principles, as Zoroaste said. Evil again, it is said, is the result of our earthly condition, imperfection is the result of creation. But if creation be by God, creation cannot be evil, since God is considered as good.
Again, it may be argued, the world is a manifestation. How the characteristic of a manifestation is that it is the opposite of the thing manifested. The one is manifested as many, the immutable as that which has motion.
Therefore then the good is manifested as the bad. The explanation seems to be good.
But if this be so, there is, this is a law of manifestation. God is then governed by a law? The Fatum of the romans, the ananke of the greeks is then greater than God himself? God is then not the supreme Being?
The contradiction of infinite personality. An infinite personality is no personality at all.
Is there a vacuum between bad and good. [?]
